Mass. NEPSAC All-Stars, Player of the Year

NEPSAC Player of the Year: Kalel Mullings, Sr., Milton Academy

It had been a long road for Milton Academy's Kalel Mullings.

Even though the senior had made his mark for the Mustangs, injuries had cut short his previous seasons.

So heading into his senior year at Milton, Mullings still had some goals left to accomplish.

As it turned out, that final season with Milton turned out to be the best one. Milton coach Kevin MacDonald turned Mullings loose on offense, lining him up wide at receiver at times in addition to giving him handoffs out of the backfield.

On defense, Mullings was his usual self at outside linebacker, showing off his hands with interceptions and a willingness to come up and make the big hit.

With Mullings turning in a dynamic performance each week, Milton rolled to an unbeaten regular season and outright Independent School League title.

Even though the Mustangs fell short in their NEPSAC bowl game to Deerfield, Mullings proved to be the best player in New England, and answered any of his critics who thought otherwise as he heads to Ann Arbor next year to play for the University of Michigan.
