Oct. 1 New England FBS/FCS Top 10

Our top 10 rankings for the Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision teams in New England.

1. Boston College (3-2) — Needs to pick up the pieces this week at Louisville. 2. UConn (1-3) — Huskies far from competitive against UCF. 3. UMass (1-4) — Big win over Akron on a number of levels.

4. Maine (2-3) — Black Bears have played a brutal slate so far. 5. Dartmouth (2-0) — Carrying over last year's success well. 6. Yale (2-0) — Looking like its preseason hype is warranted. 7. Holy Cross (1-3) — Losing to Syracuse is no black eye, but the offense does need work. 8. New Hampshire (2-2) — Wildcats are figuring things out.

9. Harvard (1-1) — Crimson will be right in the thick of the Ivy League chase this year.

10. Sacred Heart (3-1) — Can make a good argument for a higher spot.
