Week 2 MIAA top 25


1. Everett (2-0) — Crimson Tide finally come home to face a red-hot St. John's Prep team.

2. Catholic Memorial (2-0) — A week after an offensive explosion, defense did the job against Stoughton.

3. Lincoln-Sudbury (2-0) — Another dominant effort over a good team.

4. Duxbury (2-0) — Dragons becoming a second half team.

5. Xaverian (1-1) — Big plays from standout sophomores in win over Bridgewater-Raynham.

6. St. John's Prep (2-0) — Has looked terrific in wins over Haverhill and Central Catholic.

7. North Andover (2-0) — Scarlet Knights looking mighty impressive so far.

8. Doherty (2-0) — Highlanders find an easier time this week in beating Holy Name.

9. Needham (2-0) — Impressive win over a Hopkinton team that should win a lot of games this year.

10. Brockton (2-0) — Continues to be stung with turnovers and penalties, but 2-0 is 2-0.

11. Mansfield (1-1) — You can't penalize this team too much for losing to a team like Everett.

12. Tewksbury (2-0) — Won maybe the most exciting game of the weekend over Methuen.

13. Central Catholic (1-1) — Young team took some shots against a more experienced Prep squad.

14. Springfield Central (1-1) — Some changes on offense resulted in an explosive win over St. John's of Shrewsbury.

15. Shrewsbury (2-0) — Survived a thriller over an inspired Grafton team.

16. North Attleboro (1-1) — Few losses sting more in Big Red Country than those to Bishop Feehan.

17. King Philip (1-1) — Defense is still there while the offense comes along.

18. BC High (1-1) — Defense throws up the goose egg on Marshfield.

19. Dracut (1-0) — Fires in Lawrence postpone game, as Middies will face Chelmsford next.

20. Lynn English (2-0) — Cruised past Somerville.

21. Lynn Classical (2-0) — Rams have looked dominant so far.

22. Hingham (1-0) — Week off before a big game with Whitman-Hanson.

23. Nashoba (2-0) — Chieftains look great on both sides of the ball so far.

24. Mashpee (2-0) — Another big road trip, another big road win.

25. Braintree (2-0) — We'll be the first to admit we severely underestimated this team preseason.
